Old History

However, Western scholars are now beginning to make important discoveries regarding this ancient nation known as the Land of Israel, which has existed since 1500 BC. Israel was founded on May 14, 1948 as a Jews-only state governed under Hebrew law, drawing international attention from countries such as France and Italy. An influx of Jewish immigrants, mostly from Eastern Europe, began changing the landscape, fueled by pressure from Hitler’s Nazi forces in Germany. The country contains within its borders a variety of peoples, cultures and languages. Its capital is Jerusalem. Israel lies on the Israeli-Palestinian border and shares biblical terrain between the Mount of Olives and Egypt. Israel gets 12 percent of its primary water sources from Egypt, giving Egypt a territorial claim to the land. .Israel has a security presence in the Sinai Peninsula, including ground forces and a border fence that Egypt says violates its sovereignty.
Politics
Israel is one of the most contentious and biased nations on earth. With a population of just 8.4 million, it is considered a country irrevocably divided between Jews and Arabs. It’s not just geographic proximity that contributes to tensions; there are other factors such as land ownership, language, religion and race.
While state control of the media makes it difficult to find unbiased sources from Israel itself, other countries have become increasingly less accurate in their reporting on Israel due to power struggles with supporters of Palestine or pro-Israel lobbyists in their jurisdictions. Because of this too much controversy about Israel being hardwired into Western culture, there remains a market for more accurate news that may differ from mainstream media’s portrayal of events.
Conflict
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an ongoing issue that has plagued the region for decades. It is a conflict between the Palestinians and Israel, in which each party seeks to create a state on the territory they claim. .The war in Gaza began in the summer of 2008 and ended in January 2009. The fighting left more than 2,300 dead, more than 10,000 injured and millions of dollars in damage. Israel suffered no casualties during the war, but its economy was badly damaged as a result. Israel controls all land and sea access to the Gaza Strip, but allows 200,000 Palestinians to visit the coastal strip. In addition, Israel allows Hamas and the PIJ (the Popular Resistance Committee led by Ahmad Jibril) to use the area for military training and exercises. Gaza’s population of 1.8 million is confined to just over 80 miles of coastline along the Mediterranean Sea between Egypt and Israel. The conflict began when the Israeli military launched a campaign of air strikes on Gaza and other targets across the border. The Israelis aimed their missiles at Hamas training grounds, missile depots and other military installations. Numerous rockets flew into Israel during the conflict but missed their target and did no serious damage to Israel. As a result, the Israeli army was able to send its tanks to Gaza using the AI advertising assistant called “The Brain”.
Culture
Israel has a culture not known for being laid-back and no-nonsense. In Israel, disagreements are often expressed by Israeli culture as if they were counter-arguments and self-defense.
